INFORMATION RECEPTIONIST (OFFICE AUTOMATION)

You must possess one (1) full year of general experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples:
Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Examples of general experience include:
Maintained data base for tracking and used data for collection efforts; Provided administrative support, inventorying and ordering supplies; Greeted and assisted office visitors, received and directed telephone calls, responds to writing inquiries for information; Responsible for completing routine requests and tasks such as processing incoming and outgoing mail as needed; Monitored the radio communications or other two-way communications using a multi frequency radio system; Distributes a wide variety of publications, forms and other general informational materials; Serves as cashier and is responsible for assigned change making fund; Utilized automated system to process purchases; Reconciled cash box and collections assuring delivery to appropriate depositing personnel. -OR- Education:
2 years above high school. - OR- Combination of Education and
Experience:
You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate undergraduate education. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands:
The work is sedentary, walking, standing, bending and may require long periods of sitting with intense concentration and working at a fast pace. The position at times, may have short deadlines and quickly changing priorities. You may be required to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs. Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office environment. Some travel may be necessary to attend meetings and participate in workshops.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
